Biodesign Synergy Recap

In collaboration with McGill University, we hosted the second annual Biodesign Synergy competition from August 26 to August 27. Biodesign Synergy is an online competition that brings bioengineering student teams from across Canada to showcase their innovative projects to an audience of judges and peers.

This year, the event ran successfully for 2 days with several teams joining us to present their projects from different universities across Canada. Teams presented their projects, certificates were awarded to the best teams. Startups got a chance to show their companies and students engaged in valuable networking with industry professionals, professors, and each other. The event was a success and a chance to celebrate the progress and ideas pushing the field forward.

Our team presented the CyberStride project—a walker design that provides physiotherapists with quantitative data, streamlining the treatment process. We won the Best Technical Execution award, with judges commenting, “They emphasized the critical nature of meticulous design and flawless execution, shedding light on the specific challenges associated with portability during usage.” Congratulations to our design team for their outstanding work on CyberStride!
